Celebrating Healing, Resilience, and Community in Mahama Refugee Camp On 18-19 August 2026, Prison Fellowship Rwanda (PFR), in partnsrship withGIZ Rwanda-Burundi, and collaboration withhashtag#MINEMA,UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and the Refugee Executive Committee, organized a conviviality meeting for graduates of sociotherapy groups in Mahama Refugee Camp. The event brought together approximately 623 participants to reflect on their healing journeys, discuss the benefits of sociotherapy services, and share lessons learned throughout the group sessions. Participants were inspired by speeches from leaders, powerful testimonies from sociotherapy graduates, and engaging traditional dance performances. The messages emphasized the importance of maintaining positive mental health, preventing relapse, and continuing to make meaningful contributions to families and communities. The event demonstrated the transformative impact of sociotherapy in promoting psychosocial well-being and social cohesion. Participants expressed their gratitude for the program and recommended expanding the service to reach more individuals who could benefit from it. PFR remains committed to supporting mental health, healing, and resilience among refugee communities.
