Kigali, Rwanda – PFR and CEJP today welcomed Gabriela from the Hoffnungsträger Foundation, the donor supporting the Correctional Facilities to Communities (CFC) Project, for a field visit aimed at reviewing project implementation and reinforcing the shared commitment to rehabilitation and reintegration.
The visit commenced with a meeting with PFR staff, during which the project team presented an overview of key activities, achievements, implementation challenges, and strategic priorities for the coming period. The discussion offered an opportunity to reflect on progress made and explore ways to further strengthen project outcomes.
As part of the visit, the delegation traveled to Muhanga Correctional Facility, where the facility's leadership provided updates on the activities being implemented under the project. The visit also included an engagement session with sociotherapy participants, who shared inspiring testimonies illustrating the project's role in promoting healing, behavioral change, rehabilitation, and successful reintegration into society.
The testimonies highlighted the transformative impact of psychosocial support and community-oriented rehabilitation approaches in helping individuals rebuild their lives and relationships.
PFR and CEJP express their sincere appreciation to the Rwanda Correctional Service (RCS) for its strong collaboration and ongoing support, which continue to play a vital role in the successful implementation of the CFC Project.
Through continued partnership and shared commitment, the CFC Project is contributing to lasting positive change for individuals, families, and communities across Rwanda.
