Since February 2025, PFR, in partnership with GIZ, is implementing a project of 2 years, that aims to enhance access to legal aid, mental health, and psychosocial support among the refugees, asylum seekers, and host community in Kirehe. Objectively, the project will enhance access to legal services in the Mahama refugee camp and its host community. Through training Refugees, Asylum Seekers, and Host Community Members in National
Basic Laws. Providing Individual Legal Orientation, Advisory Services, and representation to Refugees and
Asylum Seekers. and Capacitating the Refugee Lead Organization in Mahama Refugee camp.

Secondly, strengthening conflict resolution mechanisms in the Mahama refugee camp and its host community. where 180 individuals, consisting of members of councils of elders, youth, and other community
representatives, will be trained on the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanism. This will equip participants with
knowledge and skills on conflict prevention and resolution. As result, a mediation
desk will be established in the Mahama refugee camp. The desk will provide services aimed at
resolving disputes or conflicts among refugees and host community members.

Lastly, improving MHPSS services in the Mahama refugee camp and its host community district. To achieve this objective of improving MHPSS services in Mahama refugee camp and its
host community, PFR will use the socio-therapy approach. This successful method aims to deal
with trauma in a refugee context. PFR will establish healing spaces both in the camp and host community.
