Living Oaks Limited Visits Mahama Refugee Camp: A Journey of Compassion and Learning
On November 12, 2025, Mahama Refugee Camp welcomed a special delegation from Living Oaks Limited, a Singapore-based organization led by Rudy and his team. Their visit aimed to understand the realities of life in Mahama and explore how Prison Fellowship Rwanda supports refugees through its various programs.
Living Oaks Limited is known for its commitment to vulnerable communities worldwide. Rudy shared inspiring stories from their work in Ukraine, where they have been a steadfast presence since the war began—delivering life-saving aid, rebuilding homes, providing trauma care, and supporting local churches to care for displaced families.
During their time in Mahama, the team met refugee representatives and beneficiaries of Prison Fellowship Rwanda. The camp president highlighted how the organization’s interventions have helped restore dignity, address challenges, and promote socio-economic development. Beneficiaries shared heartfelt testimonies about how these programs have transformed their lives.
The visit included a tour of key services offered by Prison Fellowship Rwanda, such as legal assistance, community-based protection, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), and specific needs programs. The delegation also explored different areas of the camp, including livestock near the Akagera River and the gas distribution site, gaining a firsthand view of daily life and ongoing initiatives.
This exchange was more than a visit—it was a moment of solidarity and shared vision for a world where vulnerable communities receive the care and support they deserve.
