Yesterday, Sunday, 21 December 2025, Prison Fellowship Rwanda, through The Child's Journey Program (TCJ), facilitated a visit for 20 children to meet their 13 incarcerated parents at Rubavu Correctional Facility.
The children were given a special opportunity to reunite with their parents—many of them for the first time in several years. One father shared that the last time he saw his daughter, Ineza Naome, she was only two years old; she is now ten. Their reunion was emotional and unforgettable.
With deep gratitude, the parents expressed that reconnecting with their children was the most precious Christmas and New Year gift they could ever receive. They added that this opportunity will strengthen their rehabilitation journey, renew their sense of responsibility, and inspire them to commit to positive family relationships, peaceful coexistence with their neighbors, and meaningful contribution to Rwanda’s socio-economic development upon their release.
Prison Fellowship Rwanda extends its sincere appreciation to the Rwanda Correctional Services (RCS), especially Rubavu Correctional Facility, for making this important activity possible.
