Huye, Rwanda – Today, PFR, in collaboration with the Ministry in Charge of Emergency Management (MINEMA) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), conducted a Community Outreach Activity for refugees residing in Huye Urban.
The outreach was designed to strengthen communication with the refugee community and improve access to protection services. Activities included a General Meeting with community members, where participants discussed key issues affecting their well-being, shared concerns, and received important updates and information.
In addition, a Help Desk for confidential protection support was established to provide individual assistance and guidance on protection-related matters in a safe and private setting.
The activity demonstrated the commitment of PFR, MINEMA, and UNHCR to ensuring that refugees are informed, heard, and able to access the support services they need. Community outreach remains an essential approach for strengthening protection, building trust, and promoting the well-being of refugees and host communities alike.
