Prison Fellowship Rwanda Promotes Community Responsibility through Igitondo cy’Isuku in Mahama Refugee Camp

Prison Fellowship Rwanda (PFR) actively participated in Igitondo cy’Isuku, a community cleaning initiative conducted at Mahama Refugee Camp. Beyond environmental cleanliness, the activity served as an important platform for awareness raising and community education.

During the initiative, participants received key messages focused on strengthening community responsibility and social well‑being. Community members were reminded of their crucial role in preventing children from leaving the camp to beg in different cities, as well as the importance of addressing school dropout challenges.

The discussions also emphasized the promotion of positive family values and the need to prevent and resolve family conflicts in a peaceful manner. By fostering dialogue and shared responsibility, the initiative aimed to contribute to a safer, more supportive, and cohesive community for all residents of the camp.
