Mugombwa Refugee Camp, Rwanda | 5 August 2026
PFR, in partnership with the Ministry in Charge of Emergency Management (MINEMA) and UNHCR, today celebrated the graduation of 25 Persons of Concern (PoCs) who successfully completed a Sociotherapy Program at Mugombwa Refugee Camp.
The graduation ceremony brought together representatives from PFR, MINEMA, UNHCR, community leaders, facilitators, and camp residents to recognize the participants' commitment to improving their psychosocial well-being and strengthening community cohesion.
The Sociotherapy Program provided participants with a structured and supportive environment where they engaged in group discussions, shared experiences, addressed psychosocial challenges, and developed coping mechanisms to enhance resilience and emotional well-being. The initiative also promoted trust-building, mutual support, and peaceful coexistence among community members.
Speaking during the event, stakeholders commended the graduates for their dedication and active participation throughout the program. They emphasized the importance of psychosocial support interventions in fostering healing, resilience, and social inclusion among refugee populations.
The graduation of these 25 participants reflects the continued commitment of PFR, MINEMA, and UNHCR to promoting mental health, community empowerment, and sustainable social cohesion within refugee communities.
As graduates take this knowledge back to their families and communities, they become agents of positive change, contributing to stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities at Mugombwa Refugee Camp.
